The Unsent Message

My dear friend…
you know that message sitting in your phone for so long?
Yeah… the one you type, delete, type again,
and then say — “chhod na yaar, kal bhejta hoon.”
But kal never comes, right?

Mine is still there.
Typed at 2:17 AM.
Lights off, brain full of thoughts, feeling all over the place.

I just wrote —

“Hey… hope you are doing okay.”

Bas itna hi.
No drama, no big story.
Just a small line.

Then I stopped.
Finger froze on the send button.
Inside, I heard — “Why now ra? Emi avuthundi?”

Maybe it wasn’t about them.
Maybe it was about me —
trying to feel better without sending anything.

So I left it.
Unsent. Unread.
Just sitting there in drafts —
like one small thought you never say out loud.

Sometimes, my dear friend,
closure doesn’t need sending a message.
It’s enough to know
you don’t have to.

Manaki telusu,
not every feeling needs a destination.
Konni feelings silent lo unde chalu — they heal there.

Every time I see it again,
I just smile.
Because growing up isn’t always about pressing send.
It’s about seeing the message,
taking a deep breath,
and thinking,

“My dear friend… I’m okay now.”
